The Road to Success of our Middle School Robotics Teams

Both of our middle school robotics teams competed this weekend at the FLL Masterpiece Challenge at Shenendehowa High School. “The Coding Turtles” and “The Megs” have been designing and programming since September to prepare innovative projects and autonomous robots. During the tournament, they presented their ideas to a judges panel and set their robots out to explore the mission table. Both of our robotics teams showed gracious professionalism and exemplified the core values of The Albany Academies throughout the entire tournament.

The Coding Turtles earned two awards: The Innovation Model award and The Core Values award. The Coding Turtles will continue and compete in the Championship at RPI on February 10th!

Our two teams were coached by Laura Kessler, technology faculty; Darius Haizlip, maintenance staff; and Kari Hamric, science faculty. Congratulations to Darius Haizlip for earning the coaching/mentor award!
