Top Five Track Or Treat Booths
December 8, 2022
#5 – Writing Center
Being a smashing success this year, with lots of increase in attendance and reputation at the school, the newly formed class decided to participate in track or treat. Disclosure:
Decorations:
They had to prove they were very scholarly, placing stacks of random books on their table that they took at the last minute from the writing center room. Their decorations were up to par with a green polka dot tablecloth and some fake spider webs for the Halloween Spirit.
Handouts/Spirit:
The reason the writing center has this ranking on our list: the pretzels. Remember when you were a kid and got pretzels on Halloween instead of candy? Yeah, it was never a good feeling. However, the writing center was still one of the best due to their creativity and positive interactiveness.
#4 – AAG 6th Grade
Hearing that the 6th grade had their own booth, we were confused, to say the least. With such a broad category, we did not know what to expect. Additionally, referencing Mrs. Cadman’s email, the 6th-grade girls won “most creative booth” and “funniest booth.”
Decorations:
They had lots of colorful decorations, which seemed to have won them the most creative category. Although It seemed like a regular booth;, they could be heard for miles.
Handouts/Spirit:
These girls were a very upbeat and energetic group. They brought the perfect amount of pep and happiness to the event. 6th-grade girls definitely deserved to win the funniest booth with the number of jokes and laughter they generated amongst themselves and the kids. They had lots of candy, but seemed to run out towards the end as most did.
#3 – Chinese Honors Society
The Chinese Honors society worked very hard before and during Track or Treat to deliver a booth that the lower school would enjoy.
Decorations:
The Chinese Honors Society was extremely unique and thoughtful with their decorations. The booth was adorned with hand-painted calligraphy for the Chinese characters for “Pumpkin,” “Ghost,” and “Happy Halloween!” on pumpkins, along with a colorful poster.
Handouts/Spirit:
The enthusiasm certainly showed with this group, as all of the CHS representatives that manned the booth were genuinely excited about being there and representing their class. Maybe it was just because they got to get out of class early? But hey, they were very genuine to the kids. However, even with all this spirit, the lower school’s attention lessened when the lollipops ran out. .
#2 – AA Varsity Lacrosse
Seeing their booth in person and all over social media, the boy’s lacrosse team outdid themselves.
Decorations:
The boys’ booth decorations were the standard. However, their costumes are what set them apart from the rest, placing them in a solid second. They were dressed in very nice, kid-friendly costumes, each of them being a different color M&M matching their shirt color to their helmet.
Handouts/Spirit:
Again with the candy, the boys were prepared with the traditional Halloween candy. However, they again were one of the booths that were short at the end. Another strong reason they are at number two is that they are lacrosse players, so they naturally were very upbeat and supportive of the younger kids and their costumes. However, they could not compete with the prep hockey boys when it came to the gold.
#1 – AA Prep Hockey
Lastly, the number one spot belongs to AA Prep Hockey. The hockey team showed their dedication to Track or Treat by having every team member working the booth and interacting with the kids.
Decorations:
The hockey boys only needed one thing to decorate to keep kids engaged: a stick, puck, and net. The booth itself featured this interactive element where kids were encouraged to shoot a puck into a net. They made sure all the kids had fun, even creating a line that held everyone up. The kids couldn’t get enough.
Handouts/Spirit:
The hockey team was the only group that anticipated how much candy was truly needed for this event. They came prepared and, unlike other booths, did not run out. Even better than the lacrosse boys, hockey was extremely supportive and made the younger ones feel like a part of the team. Although the other booths were great, the AA Prep Hockey team showed up and showed out and are our clear winners for best booth.
